— from Susannah Weaver for Orcas Center —

It is time for Orcas Island youth to share their talents on the big stage at “Whale of a Show” on Saturday, September 30, 6:30 p.m. at Orcas Center. The audience will have the opportunity to see new talent, young performers, as well as gifted youngsters who have dazzled crowds at Whale of a Show for years.

There are fun dance routines choreographed by the children themselves and by their devoted dance instructors. There are amazing musicians and singers who will share their growth after years of practice with their inspiring teachers. The older children inspire the young ones, and will bring a smile to everyone in the audience.

Organizer Didier Gincig shares, “Some kids have grown up being in this show for over a decade and have moved on to continue their passion for the arts. It’s exciting to see the new talent that is coming up. This is a great community tradition.”

Talents include singing, dancing, and musicianship. Come enjoy and support your young friends and neighbors. All ticket proceeds benefit Orcas Center’s youth programs.

Tickets for “Whale of a Show” are $8. Tickets may only be purchased on the Orcas Center website or by calling 376-2281 ext 1 or visiting the Orcas Center box office during box office hours which are Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 12-2 pm.
