Informational meet on Tuesday, Nov. 15th at 3:30 p.m. at the Funhouse Commons
The Funhouse Commons is starting a Math Olympiad Team for 4-6th graders, through the national Math Olympiad organization.
This math club meets weekly for an hour. Club members explore a topic or strategy in depth with the goal to:
- To stimulate enthusiasm and a love for Mathematics
- To introduce important Mathematical concepts
- To teach major strategies for problem solving
- To develop Mathematical flexibility in solving problems
- To strengthen Mathematical intuition
- To foster Mathematical creativity and ingenuity
- To provide for the satisfaction, joy, and thrill of meeting challenges
The highlights for students are the five monthly contests, given from November to March. No traveling is required. These contests provide an incentive for students to intensify their study of math.
We will be having an information meeting with parents and students on Tuesday, November 15th at 3:30 p.m. If you can’t attend but are still interested in participating please call Krista at 376-7177 or email krista@thefunhouse.org.
Destination Imagination & Odyssey of the Mind
We would like to start more educational clubs for elementary age students. Let us know if you are interested in participating and helping us start one or both of these groups. Odyssey of the Mind and Destination Imagination are educational clubs that emphasize problem solving skills for a variety of ages. Call Krista at 376-7177 or email krista@thefunhouse.org for more information.
