Friday August 21th marks the return of Foghorn String Band to Orcas Island.
Led by native Orcas Islander and mandolinist Caleb Klauder and the fast fiddling of Sammy Lind, Foghorn plays some of the finest frenzied energetic old timey stringband music on the planet. The toe tappin, dancing, knee slapping music begins at Odd Fellows Hall at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10.
Foghorn’s lineup has shuffled a bit since last here two years ago with the addition of two new players; Nadine Landry (Hungry Hill) on bass and vocals and Patrick Lind on guitar and vocals. Peter Leone remains on banjo.
From all reports Foghorn sounds every bit as good as it ever has, with increased versatility, dynamic range and vocal depth.
The show is all ages and family friendly, brought to audiences by Radio Free Olga.
