Shearwater Storm is the story of Charlotte Rose, whose quiet life on a remote island not far from the Canadian border is forever changed when Michael Cordero, injured and bleeding from an accident on his forty-foot ketch, Shearwater, sails into Eagle Cove seeking help.

Using skills she’s learned caring for her husband and son, who are away fishing for salmon, Charlotte tends to Michael’s injury. As he recovers, an undeniable attraction grows between them. When a violent storm descends on the island, they risk everything to save Michael’s ketch, revealing long-buried secrets.

Set in the Pacific Northwest’s lush beauty, Shearwater Storm explores the power of love to heal and what it means to follow your heart.

Arthur Winer will sign his novel, Shearwater Storm, at Darvills on Saturdays Sept. 16 and 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

A retired environmental health sciences professor and life-long sailor, Arthur Winer’s writings have appeared in sailing magazines, Highlights for Children, and numerous scientific journals.
