The April 22 Special Election on the Orcas Fire and Rescue property tax levy appears to have passed with 1,187 votes (62.7%) There were 706 “no” votes, or 37.3% of the votes counted.
Election statistics were tabulated at 8:06 p.m. on April 22. Of 3,818 Registered Voters, 1,893 ballot have been counted, for a 49.58% voter turnout. The next ballot count will be on April 23 at 5 p.m.
Orcas Fire and Rescue District (SJC Fire Protection District #2) Proposition No. 1 was to re-authorize a regular property tax levy.
The election will be certified on May 6.
