Keep Track of Letters from the IRS
Keep records of letters received from the IRS to avoid a delay in processing. In January 2022, the IRS will send Letter 6475 for the 2021 stimulus check and Letter 6419 for the advanced child credit payments. Make sure to keep these letters for your tax records to prepare your 2021 tax return and aim to file your business taxes on time.

Job Opportunities from SJI Agricultural Guild
The San Juan Islands Agricultural Guild has been very fortunate to receive several USDA grants and we need to expand our staff. With the current Director transitioning to a different role, we are now hiring an Executive Director, Farmers-to-Farmland Coordinator, and Marketing Coordinator. Flexible schedules and ability to do most from home or at Friday Harbor office.

These are exciting opportunities to work on impactful food system work within San Juan County and the region! Click here for more info!

Thank you to our donors!
Dear EDC donors,

Thank all of you who made our Adopt a Mariner/Merchant Mariner Training program possible!

Thanks to your donations, we will be able to help 15 people enter the maritime workforce, a workforce our community desperately needs. This Saturday, the first 10 applicants – including people from Lopez, Orcas, and San Juan – will learn about Getting Started in Maritime through real-world activities in an all-day workshop. Most of these participants will seek their MMC through your support. Their MMC will allow them to apply for ferry crew jobs or do other work that supports our community while building good careers.

We are excited that your support is inspiring other communities to consider similar programs. Those future programs will contribute to the resilience of the transportation systems we depend on.

Thank you so, so much for your donations to this program or our other programs. We particularly thank the Boden, Levinson, and Madsen families for their generous support.

We also thank the grant funders who support EDC initiatives and operations, including San Juan County, the Washington State Department of Commerce, the Town of Friday Harbor, the Harvest Foundation, and the Raynier Institute and Foundation, and others.
