A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of found property at a local business. The owner was located the property was returned.

An elderly Lopez citizen called for assistance with their landline phone, which was not working. A Lopez Deputy helped the citizen contact the phone company and assisted in setting up an appointment to fix the phone line.
FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 4

Deputies on San Juan Island responded to a welfare check. The Deputies were able to make contact with the party and learned that they were okay.

A Deputy on Orcas was approached about someone possibly almost hitting someone while they were in Eastsound. The investigation is ongoing. No suspects at this time.

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of a vehicle theft. A report was taken and an investigation is ongoing.

A Lopez Deputy responded to a citizen dispute. Two neighbors were feuding over a property line. A report was taken, and the situation is being monitored.

A Deputy on Orcas Island responded report of a lost purse. The purse was located and returned with nothing missing from it.

A San Juan Deputy responded to a walk-in report of a domestic. Based on the investigation, a crime does not appear to have been committed and the incident was documented.
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 5

An Orcas resident requested a property watch at their property. Area checks will be conducted.

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a welfare check at the request of a citizen. The involved parties were contacted and all appeared to be fine at the residence. Report made.
22-000822 Citizen Dispute 11:00:44 02/05/22
A San Juan Deputy was advised that a person possessed firearms unlawfully. A search warrant was served on their residence. Numerous firearms and other weapons were seized, including a stolen handgun. The suspect was booked into the jail on several new felony and misdemeanor charges.

San Juan Deputies responded to a report of an airplane off the runway at Friday Harbor Airport. The aircraft was damaged but there were no injuries. At this time, it appears there was an equipment failure on the aircraft, causing it to turn upon landing.

A Lopez Deputy responded to a noise complaint. A group having a late night bonfire with music were given a warning for noise. They agreed to turn the music down.

A Lopez Island resident contacted a Deputy to drop off prescription drugs in the drug take back box at the substation.
MONDAY, FEBRUARY 7
22-000857 Traffic Hazard 11:01:11 02/07/22
A Lopez Island Deputy was called to a vehicle stuck in the ditch. Upon investigation, it was determined the driver had driven across a park area and attempted to access the road across the ditch and got stuck. The driver was ticketed for driving with wheels off roadway. No injury/damages.

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of threats being made on social media. After talking with the caller, there was no articulable evidence that a crime was committed. Report made.
TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 8
22-000872 Traffic Hazard 11:13:39 02/08/22
A Lopez Island resident returning home from their morning walk to discover an unknown driver had struck a road sign and OPALCO power base, and narrowly missed the meter. There was no damage to the power base and no outage.

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of an abandoned vehicle near Roche Harbor on a public road. The vehicle had flat tires and a broken out back window. The vehicle was tagged with an abandoned vehicle sticker.

An Orcas Island Deputy respond to a reported animal problem. A report was taken.

Orcas Island Deputies were dispatched to a welfare check in the Eastsound area. The subject was taken into protective custody and transported to San Juan Island for treatment.

A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of theft. The incident appears civil at this time and a report was made.
22-000891 Mental Health 23:43:54 02/08/22
San Juan Deputy responded to a report of a subject who ingested Xanax and cocaine. Upon arriving, the Deputy was struck in the face by the subject. The subject was subsequently arrested for assault 3 and booked into jail.
