We are negotiating with Public Works to have another, much earlier publicized, Open House, sometime in Mid to Late July. Three day’s notice is inadequate for the Public to plan attendance.
What will happen at the Mount Property (directly behind the Stage on the Village Green, which so many of us use and enjoy) should be fully visualized and understood by the Public.
There will be copies of the final plans at Orcas Library.
Hi, Margie:
Saw in the Seattle Times an article re rain gardens. A terrific way to treat, a la nature, stormwater runoff. Requires little effort, and evidently help is available to learn how, and make it free of cost in the effort to clean up all drainage into our beautiful Puget Sound. Ditches, runoff from streets and fields, all carry nasties ; but the raingarden idea was adopted by a town in NC as required method of choice. Would love to see it get going here on Orcas.
I also noted that article, explaining rain gardens and publicizing the plan to increase rain gardens. The article can be found by going to this address: https://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/opinion/2015311452_guest14moulton.html
and the campaign to promote rain gardens can be found at https://1200raingardens.org
