Last week, maintenance work began on the Orcas Island Ferry Terminal.
- The entire dock is getting repainted.
- The fixed dolphin (an offshore structure that helps guide the ferry into the dock) on the west side of the dock is being replaced. Over the last eight to ten months the timber in the west side fixed dolphin have slowing been falling out one at a time. The replacement began Monday night, October 21. Replacement work on the dolphin will take place at night.
The entire job is expect to take three months. The ferries will run on schedule as usual, with no closures.
