Sunday, September 18, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Doe Bay Resort

The time is returning: the Imagine Music and Arts Festival at Doe Bay rides again Sept. 16-18. This year’s lineup of music, art, and workshops is exciting! But perhaps you’re not sure you’re ready to buy a weekend pass? Back by popular demand, we’re opening up the final day of the festival – Sunday, September 18 – to local islanders for free starting at 10 a.m. Music and workshops will run until 4 p.m.

To participate, come to the Doe Bay main entrance on Sunday, September 18, and tell the gate staff there “I’m a local islander!” and they will let you in.

You must either park at a friend’s house and walk down, or park in our General Parking area for $10 – there will be no on-site parking. Also, no overnight camping please. The tubs, sauna, and Doe Bay Cafe will all be open, as well as our many vendors on-site.

Here is a bit of information about the event in case you were wondering: This year we are proud to present William Close and The Earth Harp (America’s Got Talent winner) which will turn Otter Cove into a playable instrument with twelve 300’ strings. The main Earth Harp performance is on Saturday, September 17.

The event is sub-titled “Dreamers of the Future” and is geared towards co-creating a better future together. There will be over 30 workshops by innovative thinkers on a wide array of topics. There will be yoga, sound healing, nutritious food vendors, and a huge selection of art works scattered about the property to inspire attendees. We have The Story Dome providing a visual planetarium-style tour of the known universe. Oh, and plenty of dancing to world class bands and DJs.

We are a family-friendly event—children under 12 get in free, and “Young Dreamers” (12-18 year olds) are only $50 for the full event. We have a “kids zone” with children specific programming including costumes, a parade, bubbles, and arts and crafts.  We also have an “Elder Dreamers” (65+) ticket for just $50 for the entire event.

There is no alcohol being sold at the event beyond the Doe Bay Cafe and Doe Bay Store. Cannabis use will be in accordance with State law.

We will have EMTs, security, and a professional harm reduction team on-site throughout the event. The Imagine producers and production team are assembled almost entirely from Orcas Island residents.

If you would like to get involved next year, please put in an artist / volunteer request through our website early next year (2017). Twelve hours of volunteering earns you a weekend pass to the event, and our volunteer team has a lot of fun together.
