— from Stephanie Connor for San Juan County Public Works —

Construction at the Orcas Landing Marine Facility is now in full swing. Last week ended with the contractor, Mike Carlson Enterprises, Inc. (MCE), potholing for utilities to coordinate their relocation. They begin this week with demo and removal of the existing rockery to make way for the new, permanent modular wall. Additionally, the contractor has begun removing hazardous structures in preparation for layout of the new ADA pedestrian ramp and retaining wall. Utility relocation work along Orcas Rd. is up next, so please look out for contractor’s crew on the road shoulder across the street from Orcas Hotel.

And as always, thank you for everyone’s cooperation with the parking relocation efforts at Orcas Landing. We apologize for any confusion or inconvenience that are the result of the Orcas Landing Marine Facility Improvement project.
