Holistic Land Management workshop for small agriculture businesses and entrepreneurs. 9-11 a.m. The workshops will be presented by Bruce Gregory, resource planner at the San Juan Islands Conservation District and local farm operator. Holistic land management is a decision-making process that results in a rich return of sustainable economic, environmental and social benefits. Class at Skagit Valley College in Friday Harbor. Lighting of the Holiday Christmas Tree at Eastsound Village Green from 4 – 5:30 p.m.  All islanders invited to come enjoy the annual tree lighting ceremony.  Enjoy the holiday sounds of the Community Band … meet Santa & Mrs. Claus as they hand out toys to all the good boys and girls of Orcas Island … enjoy hot apple cider and baked goodies … and enjoy the Holiday Tree Lighting at 5 pm!

Pub Night at the Orcas Hotel with Martin Lund and Gene Nery. Stop in for some great bites from the Bistro menu, and listen to two of Orcas Island’s most talented musical forces, starting at 6 p.m..376-4300

Celtic Christmas Concert tonight and tomorrow at Orcas Community Church at 7 p.m. An evening of contemporary Celtic music celebrating the season of Christmas with Windham Hill recording artists Brian Dunning from Dublin (flutes & whistles) Jeff Johnson (keyboards & vocal) & Wendy Goodwin (violin). Darvill’s Bookstore 21st Annual Holiday Party from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Everything in the store will be discounted by 15%.  As always, gift wrapping is complimentary.  Cookies and cider will be served all day and we will have more nibbles and beverages from 3:00 – 7:00 pm. Call 376-2135

Friends of the Library Holiday Tea –Annual tea at the Public Library from 1 to 4 p.m. Featuring tiny sandwiches, fancy cookies and Island music. Children can have a holiday ornament decorated with their name. From 2:00 – 3:00 pm, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be our special guests.
