— from Brendan Cowan, Department of Emergency Management —
As positive test results continue to occur in San Juan County, the County COVID-19 Response Team is going to adjust the reporting strategy and schedule. Going forward:
-The Case Count Page will be updated when positive test results are received and initial investigation has confirmed the result.
- A weekly summary of positive cases for the previous seven days will be released by end of day on Thursday. Exceptions to this include: cases with broad community exposure, or significant events such as an outbreak at a large facility, school, etc. Info on these and other complex situations will be released the day of. As always, when there is a critical community health risk necessitating the rapid sharing information, it will be done as quickly as possible.
- As before, reports will provide useful information to the community that allows for a general understanding of the nature of local cases, but patient privacy will be respected at all times.
