Prosecutors in San Juan County filed a litany of new charges Tuesday [May 10] against Colton Harris-Moore, the so-called Barefoot Bandit.

Included in the 16 criminal counts are the alleged theft of two airplanes, three boats and numerous burglaries of homes and business in the San Juan Islands between 2008 and 2010.

Harris-Moore, 20, of Camano Island, already faces more than a dozen criminal charges in Island, San Juan and Skagit counties in addition to being charged in federal court with plane theft, boat theft and weapons violations.

Prosecutors allege that Harris-Moore went on a nine-state crime spree after his escape from a juvenile halfway house in April 2008. …

The new charges filed Tuesday come as plea negotiations move forward, San Juan County Prosecutor Randall Gaylord told The Associated Press.

Included in the charges are details of alleged crimes committed over three years on Orcas, Lopez and San Juan islands. At several crime scenes detectives noted that they found bare footprints, according to the court documents.
