Mike LaPointe, independent candidate for Congress

Mike Lapointe from Everett is a progressive candidate running as an Independent for U.S. Congress against our current congressman, Rick Larsen.
On Saturday, July 26 at 12 noon on the Village Green (stage area) in Eastsound, Mike Lapointe will be on Orcas to talk with us and let us know his principles and priorities. known, to meet voters. I encourage you to come out and meet him!
Mike will also be visiting Lopez Island (July 26) and San Juan Island (July 27).
Each island will host him in two stages: The first stage involves Mike speaking with the public. The second stage involves a brief meeting of local Democrats to “vote” on whether or not the SJC Democrats should endorse Mike Lapointe (or anyone) in this election cycle.
On Orcas, Mike will speak at noon at the Farmers Market on the Village Green.
The meeting on Lopez will be on Saturday, July 26 at 4 pm at the home of Mac Langford, 97 Nelson Lane (near the west end of Military Rd.).
Votes cast at the meetings on Orcas and Lopez will be combined with those cast in Friday Harbor the next day to determine whom the SJCDs will endorse, if anyone.
On SJI, there will be a public event at noon, followed by a Democrats meeting at 2 pm on Sunday, July 27 at the San Juan Grange. (The only item on the agenda will be to vote to decide whom to endorse, if anyone, for Congressional District No. 2 in the primary election on August 5.)
