Carolyn Cruso comes to Orcas Center this Saturday, May 21

At Orcas Center May 21

Freshly back from a rousingly successful Mid-west tour, our local dulcimer/multi-instrumentalist songstress Carolyn Cruso, plays the OffCenter Stage at the Orcas Center on Saturday, May 21 at 7:30pm. Cruso weaves a web with her lyrical hammered dulcimer compositions, intricate guitar playing, and poetic writing.  She’s joined by the versatile world percussionist TJ Morris for this intimate performance.

Carolyn Cruso has been playing music for most of her life and is largely inspired by her travels both in the US and Europe, as well as by her deep connection to nature, and keen interest in the stories of people she meets out on the road – travelling minstrels, seekers, divine misfits.  Wielding two guitars, a flute, a hammered dulcimer and her voice, Cruso roams the back roads of the country, taking the listener on a journey of beauty, love, redemption, compassion and humor with her intelligent, lyrical, and soulful music.  Joining Cruso is Todd James (TJ) Morris, an innovative percussionist, powerful vocalist and unique composer who has appeared with a long list of musical favorites.

“Boundless highlights both Carolyn’s fluid playing style and the broad knowledge of Celtic music she brings to her compositions.  A gorgeous listen throughout!”
Sing Out! magazine in review of her album “Boundless.”
