I have worked for a long time with the Washington Immigrant Solidarity Network (WAISN), a very successful non-profit that promotes immigrant rights and benefits at a state and federal level.

During COVID, for instance, they were able to get state funding to grant $1,000 to individuals who were otherwise ineligible for unemployment (e.g. undocumented people) and had suffered loss due to COVID. This brought $50,000 into the pockets of unemployment-ineligible Orcas Islanders.

Another example is that they have an “immigration hotline” for eye-witnesses to report sightings of  ICE or CBP, in order to get fast responders to go to the site, document the detentions and assist anyone who is being detained. It is a great organization.

Just now, they have sent out a request for used or new computers to assist some of their volunteers who work with the Network and who need computers to do their work.

Please contact me 360-376-7101 if you can help. Many thanks.
