Orcas Center is thrilled to present Brasil in Motion, an award-winning Brazilian arts organization based in Seattle, in a vibrant outdoor performance on the Village Green Sunday, June 22 at 5pm. This free event is part of Orcas Center’s Summer Concert Series, presented by Orcas Center, Doe Bay Resort, GiveOrcas/OICF, and San Juan County.

Formerly known as Bahia in Motion, Brasil in Motion is dedicated to preserving and sharing Afro-Brazilian cultural heritage through dance, music, and education. Co-directed by Daniel Nery dos Santos and Aileen Panke, the organization offers classes, events, and cultural immersion tours to Bahia, Brazil. Their work emphasizes the importance of a balanced body, mind, and spirit, using the arts to foster joy, healing, and cross-cultural understanding.

Brasil in Motion has collaborated with renowned institutions such as Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Seattle Theater Group, Spectrum Dance Theater, and the Seattle Symphony. Their performances and workshops celebrate the rich traditions of Brazil, including Afro-Brazilian Orixás dances, Capoeira, Maculelê, Xaxado, and Samba.

Bring your family and friends to enjoy an evening of dynamic performances that showcase the beauty and energy of Brazilian culture. Another great FREE event thanks to donations from local supporters and businesses!
