On June 29, 2017 the San Juan County Sheriffs Office was called in reference to a deceased male found floating in the water near dock “J” at Roche Harbor. A passerby was walking along the main dock when the body was noticed and 911 was called.
Sheriff Ron Krebs along with other members of the Sheriff’s Office and the Coroner, Bill Cumming, responded to the call. The male victim was removed from the water. No apparent signs of external trauma were found, it is believed that the male victim slipped into the water during the night off his boat. The Coroner took control of the deceased.
The deceased was identified as Thomas W. Harris of Lantzville, BC Canada. He had traveled to Roche Harbor with his son and had been staying with friends. The victim’s family has been contacted.
