This Friday at 7 p.m., the Doe Bay Café welcomes Ben Bruce, a singer/songwriter playing what he terms “thinking rock,” on an old, “beat-down” acoustic guitar.
His music has been described as “alternately raucous, restrained and rare.”
Dennis Cook of Jambase.com writes about a Ben Bruce performance: “Tender, nicely composed songs recalled John Denver and particularly Assembly of Dust’s Reid Genauer, who Bruce strongly resembled in both voice and all-out-there-on-the-stage delivery.”
Dinner at the Doe Bay Café is served 5-9 p.m., the music begins at 7 p.m. Call 376-8059 to make reservations.
