Join us for an engaging talk and discussion led by internationally renowned educator, author, and lecturer — and longstanding Orcas part-time resident — Jackson Katz, who will discuss some of the key ideas from his new book Every Man: Why Violence Against Women is a Men’s Issue. The concise, energetic book combines social history with cultural critique about the ongoing crisis of gender-based violence, along with a call to action for men.

Katz praises women’s transformative leadership on this topic, even as he calls for men –- especially those in positions of family, community, business, and political leadership — to play a more active role on this critical topic.
