From Lance Evans, Orcas Island Chamber of Commerce Executive Director
The Orcas Island Chamber of Commerce is pleased once again to help ring in the holiday season with the annual tree lighting festivities this Friday (December 7).
The fun begins at 4 pm, with the arrival of Santa & Mrs. Claus … brought to the Village Green by one of Orcas Island Fire Department’s bright red engines. Santa will have lots of toys for all the Orcas kids who are there. Of course, hot apple cider and baked goodies – provided by the generous members of the Chamber – will be available for all to enjoy.
Shortly thereafter, the Orcas Island Community Band will start playing holiday favorites at the band shell. This year they will be joined by local performer Grace McCune and her group of youngsters singing Christmas carols. The band will conclude its holiday selections at approximately 4:45 pm … with the lighting of the tree immediately thereafter.
Come enjoy the holiday fun!
