— by Martin Taylor for Orcas Island Rowing (OIR) —
Orcas Island Rowing (OIR) is offering a beginning sculling (rowing) class for adults.
Rowing is a great sport. It is a low impact fun outdoor exercise. Once you become involved in rowing you will be a rower for life. The sport is addictive and rowers are part of a world wide community. There are rowing clubs in or around almost every city in the world. Cascade Lake on Orcas is a beautiful place to row.
Here are the details for the class:

www.orcasislandrowing.org for directions and more information about the club.
No previous rowing experience is required but this is a physically strenuous water sport so participants should be able to swim and should be healthy and physically fit enough to participate in vigorous exercise. If you are unsure please consult with a physician.
We will be offering more classes if there is demand so if for some reason you cannot make this class because of the schedule please get in touch and let us know if there are other schedules that would work for you.
There is regular Saturday rowing most every Saturday until Labor Day. But be sure to check with Martin as below as it is summer and there are times when folks need to be elsewhere. Graduates of learn to row class are encouraged to come back Saturdays in the Summer. Any experienced rowers including juniors and masters are also encouraged to come out for Saturday rowing.
Contact me if you have any questions at all. Martin Taylor, martin@OrcasDigerati.com, 360.298.2086
