15-007002 Domestic Dispute or Assault 16:13:20 12/02/15
Deputy responded to 595 Roche Harbor Road to investigate a report of a disturbance between two brothers.
15-007003 Animal at Large 16:21:02 12/02/15
Deputies responded to the Argyle and Pear Point area for Dogs chasing other domestic animals (cats) and growling at residents in the area. Deputies located the dogs and the owner and issued a written warning for failure to control the dogs.
15-007004 Theft 16:25:55 12/02/15
A Lopez Island Deputy received a theft complaint on 12/02/15 from a part-time resident. The property owner stated an unidentified person removed an item which was attached to a gate entrance for his driveway. The item, which was described as metal wall art sculpture of a compass, was valued at $200.00.

On 12-3-15 at 0033 hours a Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of an assist citizen on Orcas Island. The Deputy contacted the reporting party and assisted them.
15-007013 Traffic Enforcement 09:19:14 12/03/15
San Juan Island School bus driver reported a motorist moving thru intersection against the flashing red lights.
15-007019 Theft 15:10:08 12/03/15
A Friday Harbor resident came to the office to report his wife’s necklace had gone missing sometime during an aid call, hospital visit and airlift. The ER was very busy that night and due to HIPPA non-disclosure laws the hospital is conducting the interviews with other patients and personnel.

On 12/04/15 the reporting deputy was contacted by the caller in reference to a Vehicle Prowl which occurred in the Friday Harbor area. The caller advised that two items were missing from the vehicle. The incident occurred sometime over the past 4 months. No other information at this time.
15-007032 Citizen Dispute 18:10:03 12/04/15
On 12-4-15 at 1810 hours a Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a citizen dispute. The Deputy contacted the people involved and resolved the issue.

Checked white Chev Cacalier with truck plates at Lopez Airport lot. DOL was down. Owner said he transferred plates to the car… DOL record shows otherwise.

On 12/07/15 the reporting deputy was contacted by the caller in reference to a Theft that occurred in the Friday Harbor area. The item taken was removed from a business. Information on the items was taken. No suspect information at this time.
15-007082 Vicious Animal 15:02:45 12/07/15
On 11-07 a Friday Harbor resident called to report two ‘pit bull type’ dogs were chasing her chickens in her back yard. She was able to chase them off before they inured any of the birds. She did not recognize the dogs. Multiple checks of the nearby neighborhoods was made, without locating the animals.
15-007083 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 15:16:25 12/07/15
We were contacted by a family member who’s brother had died at a main land hospital. The brothers had not been in close contact for a number of years. The brother believes a number of his brothers weapons might have been stolen, but understands his brother may have sold them over the years, no knowledge.

On 12/08/15 I responded to a vehicle accident on Guard St. in Friday Harbor. The subject still at the scene said he was not driving and advised the driver left to obtain a tow for the vehicle. There was no damage to the vehicle, no witnesses and no injury. The S.O. towed the vehicle the following day.

On 12/09/15 I responded to a Friday Harbor address reference a Dog at Large complaint. The dog owner has received written notice not to allow his dog to roam on a previous incident and has continued to allow his dog to roam. I did not witness the dog on this occasion so another verbal warning was issued.

15-007115 Theft 16:01:05 12/09/15
On the afternoon of 12-09-2015, this Deputy received a report of the theft of a trailer hitch. The hitch was stolen sometime between 2200 on 12-08-2015 and 0800 on 12-09-2015. The hitch is valued at approximately $230.00 dollars.
15-007116 Theft 16:03:41 12/09/15
A Lopez Island Deputy received a shoplifting complaint from a local business on 12/09/15. The business declined pressing charges after learning the suspect suffered mental illness but requested she be criminal trespassed from the business. The involved person agreed to not enter the store again.
15-007117 Traffic Stop 19:01:15 12/09/15
On the evening of 12-09-2015, I issued a driver a notice of infraction for squealing his tires at the intersection of Second Street and Spring Street.

15-007134 Malicious Mischief 15:08:58 12/10/15
On the afternoon of 12-10-2015, I responded to a business in Friday Harbor reference possible vandalism. They discovered two small holes on one of their front glass windows. Damage could have been caused by rocks or BBs.
15-007142 Accident-Injury, Traffic 20:01:04 12/10/15
On the evening of 12-10-2015, I responded to an injury collision on Roche Harbor Road, near Gunning Lane. The driver was transported to the Hospital via ambulance to treat minor injuries. Driver was subsequently arrested for DUI.

On 12/11/15 the reporting deputy was contacted by the caller in reference to a Theft in the Friday Harbor area. The caller reported several items removed from his residence. Investigation continues…
15-007151 Citizen Dispute 14:30:59 12/11/15
A Lopez Island resident filed a disorderly conduct complaint on 12/11/15 after another resident called him an offensive name and made numerous threatening motions with his fists. The victim declined filing criminal charges but wanted the event documented. No further action will be taken at this time.

On 12/12/15 the reporting deputy was dispatched to a Residential Burglary in progress in the San Juan Island area. The reporting deputy arrived and found the residence secure and empty. It was determined that the caller was in a location outside San Juan County.
15-007162 Malicious Mischief 08:44:19 12/12/15
On 12/12/15 a SJC Sheriff Deputy investigated a reported vandalism at the corner of Olga Road and Crescent Beach Road, Eastsound. An additional location was found during the investigation. The case is under further investigation.
15-007165 Malicious Mischief 11:19:37 12/12/15
On 12/12/15 I received a report that profanities had been sprayed on three unit doors of an Eastsound storage unit business. Suspects have been identified.
15-007178 Trespassing 21:53:08 12/12/15
On Saturday 12-12-2015 an employee discovered a person inside a restaurant after hours. Deputies made contact with the subject who was an ex-employee. The owner wanted the male subject trespassed from the property.

December 13, a Lopez Island resident reported property damage to trees in front of his south end home from an overnight hit and run crash.

2 juveniles who spray painted messages around Eastsound were brought in by their parents. The case is being sent to Juvenile Probation for follow up.

On 12/14/15 a SJC Sheriff Deputy responded to a reported vandalism located on North Beach Road, Eastsound. The suspects had previously been identified during other related incidents.

On 12/14/15 the reporting deputy was dispatched to the San Juan area in reference to a Theft. Evidence was collected at the scene. Investigation continues.

A Lopez Island woman reported the theft of a power tool.

An Eastsound resident reported a missing moped.
15-007201 Traffic Hazard 18:17:11 12/14/15
A Lopez Island deputy came upon a disabled vehicle on a curve on Mud Bay Rd and helped the driver push the car safely out of the roadway. The driver said he would remove the vehicle in the morning.

A Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a vandalism.

15-007207 Traffic Hazard 08:40:27 12/15/15
A Lopez Island woman reported a pickup truck parked in the roadway in the 200 block of Bayshore Rd. A deputy checked the vehicle, and saw a note indicating it would be towed later today. The vehicle had broken down, was removed within a couple hours of the report.
15-007209 Weapons Offense 11:26:18 12/15/15
A Lopez Island woman reported multiple gunshots in the area of her residence. A deputy checked the area and found duck/goose hunters in a nearby field. The hunters were on the property with the permission of the landowner, and were lawfully hunting in a safe manner.
15-007216 Threats 18:09:42 12/15/15
On 12/15/15, a deputy responded to the Deer Harbor area regarding a threats complaint. The deputy arrived and contacted all parties involved and determined the incident was a civil matter. Settled by contact.

A deputy responded to an Eastsound address regarding a report of harassment. The reporting party was contacted and the incident was settled by contact.

A Lopez Island resident reported receiving a suspicious call from someone representing themselves as an employee of the IRS. Upon becoming suspicious of the questions being asked, the RP hung up. No personal identifying information was given. Referred to the Federal Trade Commission.
15-007230 Found Property 13:07:05 12/16/15
A Lopez Island man reported that he had found a canoe washed up on a beach on Mud Bay. The canoe had no identifying markings or numbers. The canoe was left in the finders possession pending identification of the owner.

The Sheriffs Office responded to a Friday Harbor residence reference a DV Malicious Mischief. Upon arrival a 17 year old male was arrested and brought to the Sheriffs Office to be processed. The juvenile was later released to the care of his father.

Reporting party states a person known to her was coming on her property when the complainant was not home. The suspect was married to the former owner of the property and feels the need to report the activity and state of repair of the property to the ex-husband.

December 19, a passing motorist reported a vehicle crashed into the ditch and nobody around at Mud Bay Rd near Islandale Rd on Lopez Island. The driver was identified, and he returned to the scene to remove the vehicle.
15-007277 Traffic Stop 13:31:56 12/19/15
A Lopez Island Deputy made a traffic stop for unsafe passing in a no passing zone in the 3800 block of Fisherman Bay Road on 12/19/15. The vehicle driver was issued a notice of infraction for the violation and released.
15-007281 Traffic Stop 15:27:41 12/19/15
On the afternoon of 12-19-2015, this Deputy stopped a vehicle in the Town of Friday Harbor for missing front license plate. Subsequent investigation showed the driver was driving with a suspended/revoked driver’s license in the third degree. I issued the driver a criminal citation for DWLS 3.

December 20, a 25 year old Georgia man was stopped for speeding and cited by a Lopez Island deputy for Driving While License Suspended or Revoked. The man’s driving privileges in Washington were suspended for a previous unpaid traffic ticket.

15-007307 Wanted Person 13:09:28 12/21/15
December 21, a Lopez Island woman reported that a wanted subject was staying at her home with family members. Deputies checked the home, but the wanted subject was not there at that time.
15-007318 Domestic Dispute or Assault 20:54:32 12/21/15
On 12/21/15 at 2054 hours Deputies responded to a DV situation in progress. The incident occurred in Friday Harbor. After making contact with both parties involved, statements and photographs were taken and both subjects involved were instructed not to make contact with the other.
