VOICES for Healthy Choices: A Community Conversation about Prevention

The League of Women Voters San Juan and San Juan Island Prevention Coalition are partnering for their November meetings. Join us on November 14th from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Friday Harbor Presbyterian Church. Complimentary lunch will be provided from 11:30 – noon.

San Juan Island Prevention Coalition (SJIPC), founded in 2003, is a leader in the field of prevention. Its mission is to reduce substance abuse among youth and to create a community culture supporting healthy choices and responsible behaviors by youth and adults. Coalition members will lead participants in a lively interactive session.

In November 2012, 69% of the voters in San Juan County approved Initiative – 502, the Legalization of Marijuana for Recreational Use. How does this legislation impact San Juan County?

Many questions around this new law, its policies, rules and regulations are arising. Learn about facts and available resources that can assist our community to have informed conversations and make local decisions to address the issues. The public is invited to attend. Please email prevention@centurytel.net or leave a message at 360-378-4921 if you plan to join the group for lunch. Not attending lunch? Just show up!
