“Souper Supper” Community Dinner  made up of four different warm and wonderful soups cooked from scratch using many items prepped and frozen during the Farm to Cafeteria 5th and 6th Season events. “The Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen’s Guild Dramatic Society’s Production of A Christmas Carol” continues at The Grange with performances on December 9–10, and 16–18.  Showtime is 7:30 p.m. with a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday, December 4.  Tickets are available from Darvills Bookstore, online at www.orcasactors.com, or at the door.

Doe Bay Café hosts Ghosts I’ve Met,  the project of Michigan born songwriter Sam Watts.  The group was formed by Watts in Seattle,Washington along with guitarist Ben Blankenship and cellist Brent Arnold both formerly of Seattle band Modest Mouse. Great Santa Saturday with Eastsound Merchants Association 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. in Eastsound.Family-friendly activities with the unique offerings of our small-business community.

  • 11:30–1: Kids photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus! At Tres Fabu
  • 2-3: It’s Story Time at Darvill’s Bookstore
  • 4-8: Warm up with cider and toasted marshmallows by the fire at Eastsound Square, Enzo’s, Crow Valley and Wildflour Bakery. They will also be gratefully collecting for the Orcas Food Bank.

Kids’ Holiday Craft Event, sponsored by Orcas Open Arts  from 4 to 6 pm in the public school cafeteria. Admission is free and the event is open to all Orcas children ages 5 through 12. There will be several craftmaking ‘stations’ where children, assisted by volunteers, can make recycled wool felt decorations and pouches, bead and wooden spool ornaments, decoupage pins and frames, and hand-stamped gift bags and cards. Refreshments will be on hand for hungry crafters. Those interested in volunteering at this event, please call Andrea at 376-7577
