House moving from Golf Course to Rosario

— from Crystal Mossman for OPAL —

On August 27, 2020 another OPAL recycled house will be moved from its current location near the Orcas Island Golf Course via Orcas Road to its permanent home in the Lydia Lane neighborhood of Rosario.

The house will be moved from its current location to the Golf Course during the day on Thursday and on county roads after last ferry is unloaded on Thursday evening. The move will conclude in the Rosario neighborhood approximately three hours later.

The house move may cause temporary traffic slowdowns. If there are cars waiting to pass on the route, the Nickel Bros. crew, who are handling the move, will stop in places where it is possible to let people go around.

Incorporated in 1989, OPAL Community Land Trust provides permanently affordable housing for 139 rental and ownership households on Orcas Island.
