||| FROM BRENDAN COWAN for DEPARTMENT OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT |||

The Great WA ShakeOut (https://www.shakeout.org/washington/) earthquake drill is at 10:19 a.m  on Thursday, October 19th. Signing up AND participating is super easy and only takes a few moments. Please help spread the word.

Families, individuals, businesses, schools, non-profits… you name it, everyone should get on board. Sign up here: https://www.shakeout.org/register/index.php?start=washington

The drill is a great chance to:

  • Practice drop, cover, hold-on
  • Check your home or work space for obvious hazards
  • Talk through meeting place plans with your family and co-workers

It isn’t complicated, doesn’t take much effort, and is a great small step towards helping the islands get ready for the quake we know will happen.
