Was it only yesterday? Today we donned galoshes and umbrellas again, but Opening Day for Boating Season was blissfully balmy.
Northern Light owners Wes Heinmiller and Allen Stameisen treated a lively crowd to grass hula skirts, rubber ducky races and Hawaiian music as they celebrated the day with a cruise in the Salish Sea as part of the annual Boat Parade at 1 p.m.
Then the Boating Set retired to the Orcas Yacht Club where the Orcas Village Store provided Pulled Pork sandwiches and all the fixings.
