||| FROM WORLD CENTRAL KITCHEN |||

In Gaza, World Central Kitchen is among the last organizations still able to cook meals. The IDF has shut all crossings to shipments, including humanitarian relief. We are now nearing the end of our supplies—and the limits of what’s possible. The humanitarian crisis grows more dire each day.

  • No fresh fruit has entered Gaza in over a month. Our last protein ingredients have already been cooked. Still, our chefs adapt. They’ve shifted from rice to stews made with canned vegetables, conserving fuel and energy wherever possible. Every ingredient is stretched.

  • Our bakery—now the only one operating in Gaza—is producing 87,000 loaves of bread daily. To keep up with demand, our mobile bakery is operating 19 hours a day and we are supplying wheat flour to a local partner bakery. Bread is precious, often substituting for meals where cooking has stopped, and we’re doing everything we can to ensure families have access.

  • Fuel scarcity has pushed our teams to problem solve. We’re using wood from shipping pallets, mixed with eco pellets, to power our stoves. Other aid groups have stepped in to donate their pallets, and we’ve partnered with a local producer to create a new pellet fuel source from olive husks.

Since October 2023, our local team of hundreds of Palestinians has served more than 130 million meals while managing the impact of the war on their lives and families. Without urgent action to allow aid into Gaza, we will not be able to provide further meals.

WCK is ready to welcome trucks from Egypt, Jordan, and Israel, but to do so, the humanitarian aid must be allowed to enter Gaza.

Help our teams keep cooking in Gaza.
