Government leaders from three Pacific Coast states and the province of British Columbia plan to announce a new West Coast climate change agreement at a press conference on Monday, Oct. 28.

· Governor John Kitzhaber, Oregon
· Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr, California
· Premier Christy Clark, British Columbia (via TelePresence/teleconference)
· Honourable Mary Polak, BC Minister of Environment
· Business, labor and environmental leaders from all four jurisdictions
are set to announce a historic partnership on climate policy in a news conference on Monday, October 28, 2013 at 4 p.m. The event will provide details of an agreement aligning the governments’ strategies that combat climate change and promote clean energy
The agreement will be based on the recognition that the West Coast is bounded together by a common geography, shared infrastructure and a regional economy with a combined GDP of $2.8 trillion, making it the world’s fifth largest economy.
