Health and Wellness Week continues on
Thursday, June 12 with the following events:

  • 9 am to 5 pm – Assured Imaging provides digital mammograms at Orcas Senior Center

  • 9 to 10 am – Jazzercise with Paige McCormick at Odd Fellows Hall

  • 10:30 am to 12 pm – Heal Yourself! with Kamala Fordham at the Orcas Public Library meeting room
    Through the healing arts of Jin Shin Jyutsu, Tai Chi, Qigong, and Somatics, you can change your body, expand your mind, open your heart, and clear trauma at all levels. Come experience the gift of learning fascinating, simple, and unique tools to take charge of your own life process. Instructor Kamala Fordham has been a healing practitioner for over 30 years. She draws from her background as a former registered nurse, Jin Shin Jyutsu practitioner, art therapist, and a Tai Chi, Qigong, Yoga, Somatics and meditation teacher. She has also facilitated spiritual retreats in Japan, Hawaii, Bali, Arizona, and New Mexico.
  • 1 – 2:30 pm – Medicare 101 with Pegi Groundwater and Michael Moss at the Orcas Public Library meeting room
    Facing your first encounter with Medicare can be daunting, to say the least. Join SHIBA volunteers and Washington Healthplan Navigators Pegi Groundwater and Michael Moss as they explain the basics, including the differences in the three parts, and optional drug coverage.
