The Muse Speaks, Debra Lee Babcock, 2024
WaFd Bank in Eastsound is pleased to announce that the featured artist for July and August this year is Orcas Island writer & painter Debra Lee Babcock of Art and Word Studio. Debra received a BFA in painting from the San Francisco Art Institute, is a certified Intentional Creativity and this year’s Washington State Inter-island Ferry Writer in Residence. This show of current and new work demonstrates some of the ways she weaves words into her visual work as well, layering intentions, prayers, and personal iconography beneath and throughout the imagery, sometimes visibly, sometimes not.
