Tuesday, December 17, 5:30 p.m., Village Green
— from David Turnoy —
We will be holding an event in support of impeachment in Eastsound on Tuesday, Dec. 17, at 5:30 at the Village Green. The president used military aid to pressure a foreign government to interfere in our elections, then he tried to cover it up. He should be impeached and removed from office because no one is above the law.
Please dress warmly and bring some kind of light, as it will be dark. You can even download a candle app for your phone. There will be an opportunity for anyone who wants to speak, lead a chant or song, or anything else that would be appropriate. Our main goal is to contribute to the buzz going on across the nation; there will be more than 500 such events nationwide at the same time. We have confidence that the House will vote for impeachment, and our efforts on Tuesday will go toward convincing the Senate that they need to vote to convict. So bring your cameras and phones, and if you think your sign will be visible, bring it too. I will bring a lamp to plug in which will hopefully help.
You can register for the event by going to impeach.org, then type in your zip code. This will take you to our action. And please bring friends and family.

Rather than having our minds and actions controlled by biased sources we should endeavor to determine the truth ourself whenever possible. This is especially true when it comes to impeaching a US president. To me it centers around what was actually stated during infamous telephone call between Trump and Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine. Congressman Adam Schiff Democrat, CA, chairperson of the house intelligence committee, conducted the first hearing. Keep in mind that Schiff was the person that was responsible to insure a fair hearing is held and is himself not above the law. At the start of the hearing Schiff came before the TV cameras and stated what Trump said during the telephone call that he should be impeached for.
Schiff: (quoting what Trump said in transcript of the call)“I hear what you want. I have a favor I want from you, though. And I’m going to say this only seven times, so you better listen good. I want you to make up dirt on my political opponent. Understand? Lots of it, on this and on that.”I’m going to put you in touch with people, and not just any people. I’m going to put you in touch with the attorney general of the United States, my attorney general, Bill Barr. He’s got the whole weight of the American law enforcement behind him. And I’m going to put you in touch with Rudy.” “You’re going to love him (Giuliani). Trust me. You know what I’m asking? And so I’m only going to say this a few more times in a few more ways. And by the way, don’t call me again. I’ll call you when you’ve done what I asked.” end of quote.
Now read the actual text of the phone call and decide for yourself if this rises to impeachment.

You may vehemently dislike the president, which is your right, but should this telephone call by itself result in impeachment?
Dick Bronson
Should this telephone call itself result in impeachment? In context, yes. And the context includes the sworn testimony of a large number of military and diplomatic careerists with impeccable credentials, and the President’s and Mick Mulvaney’s own words, which we saw live and on video. Our conclusion is bolstered by the President’s illegal withholding of both witnesses at the center of the dispute, including those ON THE CALL, and documents relating to the matter, including the recording transcript itself. (One wonders why someone doesn’t ask Ukraine for their recording of the call.)
Impeachment calls for a trial with witnesses and documents. Perhaps we’ll finally get to see and hear them, and perhaps the President will be deposed under oath for the first time. He holds within his own power the ability to completely exonerate himself, if that is possible. Instead, he ignores subpoenas and his proxies compare his situation to that of Jesus Christ and Salem witches.
As for the actual content of the telephone call, no one seriously believes that Chairman Schiff’s “in essence” summary was intended as a line-by-line quote from the call. No one can provide that, because the recording of the call is locked up in a classified server and hasn’t been released by the President.

Every responsible person I know has read the published “transcript,” which is no transcript at all–it purportedly was created by Dragon Dictate and one person who was listening in says there are several errors. No one I know thinks that Adam Schiff was literally reading it.
