Our new experience with UW medicine was the FIRST DAY! It was so encouraging with our conference with Dr. Pam Sheffield. She was engaging, smart and ultimately helpful. I am hopeful that all contacts with UW by members of our community will find it a success.
So, now it’s clear that the new Hospital District is being pursued to accept assignment of the Medical Foundation’s existing obligation to the UW system of more than $500,000 a year.
I hope that the petition being circulated includes this information.
Also, a “superintendent” has to be hired for the Hospital District if it passes.
The pro forma budget envisions 5000 visits per year, with only 1% Medicaid and 1% self-pay.
It would be useful to know what the #visits across all practices has been.
I had a complete physical exam the first day of UW’s operation at the Medical Center. The entire process was exceptionally professional, thorough and friendly. I was very pleased.
