For 24 hours a days, seven days a week, month after month, a stoic group of characters have been standing guard, masked up for the pandemic while keeping watch over the comings and, mostly, goings at the Orcas Island ferry landing.
No matter your preference of guardian, you can rest assured that our island is under the watchful eyes of these characters.

I love the metaphor to some in the community, except you left out the vitriol and antagonizing part.
