Instead of its usual fourth-Sunday service, the Orcas UU Fellowship will be joining with other churches and fellowships on Orcas for “An Ecumenical Evening of Gratitude.” The service will be held Wednesday, November 21, at Emmanuel Parish Hall at 7:00 p.m. Dessert and hot beverages will be provided, and all are welcome. There will not be a service, but all are invited to share expressions of gratitude.

The Orcas Council of Churches is a nondenominational group of spiritual leaders representing Orcas Island fellowships of faith. The group meets regularly to coordinate efforts, share resources, worship together, and “till the common ground” to meet the needs of the community. Participating churches include Emmanuel Episcopal Parish, St. Francis Catholic Parish, the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, the Community Church, the Lutheran Church, and the Seventh Day Adventist Church. The Council is open to all faith groups.
