Saturday, June 15, 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m., Skagit Valley Friday Harbor campus
— from David Turnoy, Chair, San Juan County Democrats —
On Sunday, June 2, at the endorsement meeting of the 40th Legislative District Democrats, both Liz Lovelett and Carrie Blackwood were endorsed overwhelmingly for the state senate seat by those in attendance. We have an incredible opportunity to have one of these outstanding candidates serve us as our next state senator.
We are hoping that we are able to get Liz and Carrie through the August primary over the other two challengers to be our two finalists in November, bringing us the opportunity to have two amazing Democrats vie for the seat in the general election. I really cannot convey in this short article how impressive these two candidates are.
If you would like to meet Liz and Carrie, both will be appearing at our June 15 San Juan County Democrats meeting in Friday Harbor at the community college.
As usual, people from other islands can walk on the ferry and receive a ride to the meeting upon arriving in Friday Harbor. Please let me know if you plan to come (if you are coming from another island) so I can line up enough drivers to pick us up. The meeting will run from 11:30 a.m. until 2 p.m.
