Sunday, August 27, 5 p.m., Village Green
— from Tish Knapp —
Sunday afternoon, the 27th, at 5:00 in the afternoon the Tow Away Zone or TAZ, as they are more commonly known, will entertain the gathering at the Village Green with their musical blending of traditional with irreverence, editorializing with nostalgia, and slapstick with serenity.
Guitarist, Carl Burger offers his own forms of quirkiness with Orcas Island-based co-conspirators, Tish Knapp, an ice tea drinking, watermelon eating southern belle, and Marj Franke, a red headed massage therapist with a voice and stage presence like Ethel Merman. All three have decades-long histories here on the Island, but have only been a trio for two years, still learning, still experimenting and having fun.
Should be a fun afternoon for both performers and audience. So bring a picnic and join fellow fun-seekers on Sunday afternoon.
