Without donor support, elementary art classes would not exist.

||| FROM A*OK, ART FOR ORCAS KIDS |||

From paint-splatterings to cardboard self-portraits, Art for Orcas Kids (A*OK) helps over 170 Kindergarten–5th grade students each year express themselves, build confidence, and discover the power of creativity.

A*OK bridges the gap between what schools can offer and what students and their families hope for.

Here is a student-made video that gives you a peek inside A*OK elementary art class at Orcas Island School District.

This video, filmed and edited by local student Moose Kinsey, features interviews with young artists answering questions like:

“Why do you like art?”

“What’s your favorite project?”

“If you taught art, what would you teach?”

During the 2025 GiveOrcas campaign, your donation – especially on Ben Franklin Day, Tuesday, May 13, 2025 – could help A*OK win more funding! Ben Franklin was a supporter of public education—we think he’d be proud to see elementary art thriving on Orcas Island.

Help us fund more ceramics, cardboard portraits, and bright imaginations—one art class at a time. We need $8600 more to fund two elementary art classes for the 2025/26 school year. Donate safely at www.giveorcas.org

Thank you for being part of our creative community,
