Sunday, November 5, 2 – 5 p.m., High School Art Room
— from Geri and David Turnoy —
On Sunday, November 5, 2017, A-OK (Art for Orcas Kids) will host another fun-filled afternoon at The Clay Café from 2-5pm at the High School Art Room. A-OK, a program of OIEF (Orcas Island Education Foundation) and a partner with Orcas Island School District, brings local artists into Orcas Island Elementary School and Orcas Island Middle School to provide art instruction to K-8 students. A-OK art classes are funded by grants, private donations, and events like The Clay Café.
You can support art in our public schools while having fun creating something beautiful by coming to The Clay Café. Select and purchase from a variety of new bisque ware, including teapots for one, flying pig banks or owl or elephant banks, pitchers, mushroom salt & pepper shakers, turtle soap dishes, bird dishes, Tuscan oil bottles, mugs, bowls, plates, vases, travel mugs, and more. Paint your selections with the colorful glazes provided. Your designs can get as creative as you want. A-OK will fire the pieces, and they will be ready for pick-up in the High School Art Room in time for the Holidays.
People of all ages can have fun at The Clay Café. Remember to bring your family and friends. Come and enjoy some yummy drinks and treats while you let your creative juices flow. All proceeds support A-OK’s K-8 art program in the public schools. If you are interested in making a donation to help A-OK provide art in our public schools, you can always donate at www.oief.org.
Please come join us at the Clay Café.
