||| FROM PEGI GROUNDWATER for SAN JUAN SHIBA |||
October 15 through December 7 is your once-a-year chance to review your insurance coverage and make sure that it will still be right for you in 2024. Why review your Medicare choices? Your health may have changed in the past year, your plan may have different coverage in 2023, or there may be new plans available to you.
The San Juan SHIBA volunteers are doing two separate one-hour presentations to help you prepare for this year’s open enrollment. The first one is on Tuesday, October 17 at 1 pm. You can attend in person at the Orcas Senior Center or join via Zoom. If you want to attend the Zoom session you will need to preregister by sending your name and email address in an email to shibasjco@yahoo.com.
The second presentation will be in person only at the Orcas Senior Center on Wednesday, October 25 at 12:30 pm. This is a live event so no advance registration is required.
You can also contact your San Juan County SHIBA (Statewide Health Insurance Benefits Advisors) volunteers for assistance in making your open enrollment decisions. We are here to help you! If you would like to speak with a SHIBA volunteer call 360-376-5892 or email us at Orcasshiba@yahoo.com and we will have one of our trained SHIBA volunteer advisors contact you.
The SHIBA program is part of the Washington State Office of the Insurance Commissioner. SHIBA volunteers provide free, unbiased and confidential counseling assistance. In San Juan County SHIBA is sponsored by the Orcas Senior Center.
