Thrive Orcas Island hosts the May Community Council at Heartwood House this Sunday, May 12th. Circle is from 4 to 6 PM, with a Potluck Supper following. Celebrate our Mother, Gaia, and all the women that nurture our island lives.
The Council Circle is a place for islanders to share what is on their hearts and minds, with a focus on what is making Orcas Island a great place to live. There are many people bringing projects and programs into form, leveraging our local resources to bring us greater resiliency. Come together to meet new people, hear what’s going on and celebrate our gorgeous island life.
Thrive Orcas Island brings islanders together a couple of times each month.
The Orcas Community Council meets on the 2nd Sunday of the month, September through May, usually at the Eastsound Fire Hall. This Sunday’s gathering, at Heartwood, 70 Langell Lane, Eastsound, is the last of the season.
The last Tuesday of the month is Green Drinks, a informal social networking event with a focus on community, environmental and entrepreneurial activities. We meet on Tuesday, May 28th in “The Snug” at Island Hoppin’ Brewery, Eastsound. Snacks are provided and drinks, including non-alcoholic beverages, are available for purchase. It’s a “non-meeting”, the perfect place to catch up on what’s happening on Orcas Island.
