“Poetry is a beautiful way of sharing thought and experience.”
||| FROM KRISTEN ARNIM for SJI SCULPTURE PARK |||
As part of creating an information-rich Sculpture Park in the San Juan Islands, we are proud to announce a new installation of poetry written by your fellow islanders. Pleasing to the eye, mind, and heart, this “Poetry Circle” is located at the south end of the Park, beside our “Soundhenge” and the newly planted redwood grove.
The 25 poems came from the 2020 all-island poetry contest winners and were previously displayed around the town of Friday Harbor. Please visit and enjoy.
Thanks to the Friday Harbor Town Council and the poets for donating these delightful poems about our island life. You can also visit the new poems of the 2023 poetry contest in the four Poetry Gardens around Friday Harbor.
