Letter-writing Event to Impact Coal Transport from 3 to 7 p.m. at Island Hoppin’ Brewery, 33 Hope Lane, Eastsound. Take a few minutes to write your own letter about concerns over the impact the transport of coal through the Salish Sea will have on our community.

Annual 2012 Holiday Pet Photos Orcas Professional Photographer, Damien Stark will be photographing dogs and cats and their owners. Treats and extra props for you and your companion will be provided. Participants will receive a glossy print, free of charge. Donations will be greatly appreciated. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Orcas Animal Shelter. No appointment necessary. Call 376-6777.
