Growing Organic Vegetables — WSU San Juan County Extension for a workshop with Dr. Carol Miles, Extension organic vegetable specialist and researcher. Soil management, veggie varieties suited to the San Juans, season extension, diseases and pests, crop rotation, seed saving, biodegradable alternatives to plastic mulch, and more. 11 am – 4:30 pm at the Eastsound Fire Station . $20; $15 for farm interns. This is Lizzard Debut Album Roland Stolk and Lizanne Hennessey, a.k.a This is lizzard, “Won’t Give Up!” CD Release Party in the Victorian Room of the Outlook Inn from 7-10 p.m., admission by donation. We’ll be performing all the songs on the album and more with Gene Nery on bass/guitar/backing vocals! There will also be autographed copies of the album for sale. We are so grateful for the support of the Orcas Island community, which has been our motivation and inspiration for the album! Kids are also welcome!
