Early Bird Tickets for Chamber Music Festival “Early Bird” patrons have been known to arrive at Orcas Center as early as 5 am. They’re greeted with coffee, goodies, music and friends.  Ticket orders will be taken starting at 8 a.m. Phone sales will begin at 10 am, by calling 376-2281.  Online sales will begin at 2 pm May 25th and continue throughout the Festival August 12th through 27th.  Go to www.oicmf.org.

Wills Workshop from 11 a.m. to noon at the Orcas Senior Center. Presented by local attorney Cyrus Field and Philanthropy expert Bob Schwartzberg. Sponsored by Friends of the San Juans, Leyde & Associaties and RBC Wealth Management. .Learn about:

Orcas Island Historical Museum Opening Day Party Season Opening Party, from 4-6 p.m.  Live music, finger food, refreshments and a few surprises will be offered, with festivities taking place both indoors and outdoors if weather permits. Come see the first public showing of the Museum’s beautifully cast replica of their ancient Bison Antiquus skull, as well as an exhibit showcasing the heyday of Orcas Resorts circa 1920’s through 1950’s, and some  charmingly illustrated excerpts from islander’s oral histories done by Nancy Knapp’s 4th/5th grade class.

Saturday, May 28

Kaleidoscope 21st Annual Pet Parade Starting location is School Road at 10 a.m. for judging! As usual, the [intlink id=”12373″ type=”post”]parade[/intlink] will start at 11 a.m. and end at the Eastsound Village Grounds in the heart of downtown, where awards will be announced.

Bite of Orcas on the Village Green from 11 am to 3 pm. Restaurants and caterers should contact Elyse at 376-4500 for information and to get an application. This is a major fundraiser for Wolf Hollow Wildlife Rehabilitation Center.

Dance with the Stars Orcas Dance sponsors live music and dancing  at the Orcas Center at 8 p.m. Nibbles and wine are available. Tickets are $12,and are available at  Kay’s Antiques and at the  Bite of Orcas on the Village Green earlier in the day.  Tickets are also available at the door.
