Orcas Island Garden Club Meetings take place on the 3rd Wednesday of each month, September through May, in the Madrona Room at the Orcas Center and start at 10 a.m. Typically, the sessions begin with a short business meeting followed by the Program. All attendees are then invited to a hosted social hour with coffee, tea and appetizers.
Our guest speakers are of very high caliber with many years of professional experience in their areas of expertise. Their topics cover a wide range from keeping your plants healthy to landscape design to how to showcase your efforts in your home.
If you are looking for a celebrity speaker, Graham Kerr, The Galloping Gourmet, will be with us in March. He will discuss bringing your garden produce into the kitchen for great cooking and marvelous eating; “Eat More, Grow More, Gather More, Share More” E.G.G.S. (for short !)
The Club sponsors an annual Garden Tour in June. The gardens on the tour vary each year and give members and the public a chance to view up close and personal those spectacular gardens they have always heard about.
If you want to learn about how to handle your particular garden problem, hear from great guest speakers, and meet with other local gardeners who share your enthusiasm, the Orcas Island Garden Club is the place for you.
