The April Orcas Center Art Exhibit will feature the work of Artist Susan Slapin.
Susan was born in Connecticut, and moved on to California, Oregon; now an Orcas island resident for 20 years. The world of color, texture, and nature have always been basic inspirations. Slapin works in a variety of mediums including printmaking, acrylic painting, mixed media, pastels, and photography. Images are often introspective/expressive, contemplative, sensory…inspired by Nature.
Susan attended Marylhurst University and previously worked at The Academy of Motion Pictures, Arts, and Sciences. Susan also studied under James Turrell, honored artist/teacher~master of the nature of light and color. Slapin has designed Wearable Art, facilitates Art Workshops, and presents in a broad spectrum of mediums. Bold contemporary abstract colorfield paintings, etchings and monoprints, delicate pastels, and photography, span the range of textured images for this exhibit that will run through May 3rd.
