A stone-cold monkey in the snow outside her apartment caught the eye of islander Bridget Wright as she went on a walk-about today with her camera.

Perhaps this little monkey represents the viewpoint of  islanders, if not many Washingtonians, as we finally seem to be, perhaps, coming out of a recent cold snap.

Roads were fairly quiet today and parking in the village was a-plenty.

It seems that many of not most of us chose to cover our eyes and not deal with the hassle of snow, even as the Los Angeles Times referred to Seattle folks in a headline yesterday as “snow-wimps.”

Others of us who are more resilient, however, as depicted in this second Bridget Wright photo, took the snow right in stride and perhaps even used it to personal advantage — in this case a couple of new seasonal frocks.
